Weather Forecast for July 16, 2026: Heatwave Spreads Across the Country

Today, Albania will remain under the influence of hot weather, with high temperatures and clear skies across most of the country. The thermometer is expected to climb as high as 39°C in several cities.

According to the Military Meteorological Service forecast, the weather will be mostly clear throughout the day.

Few to moderate clouds will appear in the mountainous areas of the north and northeast, where isolated rainfall may occur.

Maximum temperatures will reach 39°C in Berat, Gjirokastër, Lezhë, Shkodër and Tirana. Temperatures of 38°C are expected in Elbasan and Sarandë, while Fier and Vlorë will see 37°C.

Korçë and Bulqizë will record the lowest maximum temperatures, reaching up to 34°C.

The wind will blow from the northwest-west, at an average speed of around 7 metres per second.

Along the southern coast, it is expected to strengthen at times to up to 14 metres per second.

Low waves are forecast at sea, with a force of 1 to 2 on the Beaufort scale.
