Weapons Cache Found in the North Suspected of Links to the Killings in Zubin Potok

The arsenal of weapons displayed on Thursday in northern Kosovo will undergo a full examination by the Kosovo Forensics Agency, with the aim of verifying suspicions about its possible involvement in the mass killings in the Zubin Potok area.

Acting Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla announced that he had ordered the examination to be carried out as a priority. After the conference concludes, the weapons will be sent to the Forensics Agency, where experts, in cooperation with police officers assigned to the investigation, will work urgently.

According to Sveçla, as soon as evidence-based scientific data is secured, the Kosovo Police will take the necessary action as part of the investigation and work to bring every person involved in this massacre to justice. He stressed that the institutions will not stop until they have uncovered the fate of the last victim in Kosovo and arrested all those responsible for the wartime killings in Kosovo.

The suspicions linking the weapons to the crimes of the past were also confirmed by Gazmend Hoxha, Director General of the Kosovo Police. He said that some parts of the arsenal may have been used in the mass killing of the group of intellectuals.

Hoxha explained that these remain only suspicions for the time being and that they will be verified in laboratories in Kosovo and, if necessary, in laboratories abroad.
