On the morning of this Saturday, Vlora was placed under heightened security measures ahead of the protest announced by civil society against the installation of floating power plants in the Triport area.
More than 200 police officers have been deployed on the ground, including public order officers, the “Shqiponja” Unit, the Delta Unit, as well as Rapid Intervention Forces brought in from several cities across the country.

According to the organizers, citizens have been invited to join the gathering to oppose this project, while also calling for its suspension and greater transparency from the institutions.
The organizers have also expressed their opposition to the cordoning off of the area and the placement of the floating power plants in Triport.
The situation in the area appears calm, while the protest and the way the authorities will manage the gathering and maintain public order during the day are still awaited.
