VIDEO/ Saimir Korreshi publishes disturbing footage from the Lushnje fire station: Rats, insects and unpaid wages

In a video shared on social media, Democratic Party MP Saimir Korreshi published footage from the Lushnje fire station, where working conditions appear to be extremely poor.

Korreshi showed the condition of the station and also made public a message he had received from one of its employees.

The employee claims that, in addition to the unsuitable conditions, they have not received their salaries, the bonus promised by the prime minister or payment for overtime for around 20 days.

“Hello, Mr Saimir Korreshi. We have a very serious problem here at the MZSH (Fire Station). The problem is that they have left us on a hill which, if you come and see it up close, is filthy. Rats and all kinds of insects come out, and I do not know how to explain it; it is a catastrophe. Another problem we have is our wages. It has been approximately 20 days since they have given us either our salaries, the bonus the prime minister promised us or payment for the overtime we have worked. We have received only 500,000 lekë, as if we were municipal employees, not fire station workers. They have paid us neither the overtime nor the bonus. We want to know where they have taken our money. Please keep my name anonymous. Thank you very much, Mr Saimir Korreshi.”

Korreshi accompanied the post with an appeal for the footage to be watched carefully, reiterating the invitation he made a day earlier to jointly examine the situation at the station.
