Video from Yorkshire Wildlife Park: Tiger attacks man who entered its enclosure

A man suffered serious injuries after entering the enclosure where a tiger was being kept at a zoo in England.

The incident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, near Doncaster, the Daily Mail reported. Visitors panicked and rushed to leave the park. Authorities have not disclosed the man’s identity.

Reports said the man was in a severely distressed emotional state when he entered the tiger’s enclosure. The animal attacked him and caused serious injuries.

In a video posted on social media, the man can be seen wearing a black shirt, kneeling with his arms outstretched. The tiger approaches him from behind, bites him in the back and knocks him to the ground. The attack continues as the animal then stands over him. Several cries from the man can be heard in the recording: “Stop!”

After the incident, a large number of police officers, two ambulances and a medical helicopter arrived at the park. Visitors were evacuated and the park’s operations were temporarily suspended.

To frighten the tiger and drive it away from the injured man, park employees used special gas cartridges.

Witnesses said they heard up to five shots, initially creating confusion about the animal’s fate. Police later confirmed that the tiger had remained inside its enclosure.

Visitors were asked to leave immediately. Dominic Ford, who was at the park with his four-year-old granddaughter, said staff instructed them to leave the premises.

Ford said the staff remained calm, although the situation was serious. He confirmed that a medical helicopter, an ambulance and numerous police officers arrived at the scene.
