Three people were killed after United States armed forces struck another vessel suspected of involvement in drug trafficking in the Caribbean Sea.

The announcement was made by US Southern Command (Southcom), which said the operation was carried out on September 9 by the Western Hemisphere Joint Task Force.
According to Southcom, the vessel was a speedboat, and intelligence had confirmed its active involvement in narcotics smuggling.
“The operation killed three narcoterrorists,” Southern Command said. US authorities stated that the vessel had been traveling along “known narcotics trafficking corridors in the Caribbean.”
This is the latest in a series of US operations against vessels suspected of transporting drugs in the Caribbean region.
