Clashes between the United States and Iran have intensified once again, after Tehran announced that it had struck American military targets in the Middle East in response to recent US attacks near the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, American military positions were targeted, while Iran’s Foreign Ministry accused Washington of violating the memorandum of understanding signed last week. So far, the US military has not confirmed any attack against its forces.

This development comes after the US military on Friday carried out strikes against missile depots, drones and coastal radar systems in Iran.
According to CENTCOM, the operation was a response to the Iranian attack against a merchant vessel near the Strait of Hormuz.
US President Donald Trump described the Iranian attack on the vessel as a “reckless violation” of the ceasefire agreement, while a US official stressed that the operation does not signal a return to a broad military conflict.
Vice President J.D. Vance also reacted in harsh tones, declaring that “violence will be met with violence.”
In the early hours of Saturday, Bahrain, home to a major US military base, reported that it had been struck by Iranian drones. Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry condemned the attack and described it as a “flagrant violation of the country’s sovereignty.”
Meanwhile, a tanker was hit by an unidentified projectile in the Strait of Hormuz. The vessel sustained damage, but no crew members were injured.
Following the latest incidents, the Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC), backed by the US Navy, raised the threat level in the Strait of Hormuz to the “significant” category and recommended maximum caution for commercial vessels moving through this strategic corridor.
Although a memorandum of understanding had recently been signed, developments in recent days have raised questions about the implementation of the agreement between the US and Iran.
The document provides for Iran to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the gradual restoration of maritime traffic to the levels that existed before the conflict.
However, uncertainties remain over how the agreement will be implemented, especially regarding the issue of transit fees. President Trump has stated that navigation should be free and without charge, while Tehran insists it has the right to impose fees on ships passing through the strait.
