During an inspection of a truck at the Vërmicë border crossing, Kosovo Customs found undeclared shoes and clothing. The goods were worth around €72,600, and almost all the products bore protected trademarks.
The case came to light during customs clearance. According to Kosovo Customs, a customs officer suspected that the reported weight of the cargo was inaccurate. A check showed that the truck weighed more than declared.

The discrepancy prompted a detailed inspection of the vehicle. Officers found 1,036 pairs of shoes and 2,980 items of clothing that were not listed on the customs declaration.
The total value of the goods found is estimated at around €72,600, excluding import duties.
Customs said it had taken the appropriate steps and that administrative proceedings are ongoing. The relevant authorities have also been notified for further handling of the case.
The agency reiterated that Customs and Excise Code No. 08/L-247 requires all goods subject to customs procedures to be declared accurately, in accordance with their actual condition. Inaccurate declarations or failure to declare goods may violate customs law and lead to legal measures.
Kosovo Customs stressed that it will continue inspections to prevent smuggling and the evasion of customs duties, as well as to protect fair competition in the market.
