Ukraine uses “Pelican” missile in Russia for the first time, Zelensky: We struck oil industry facilities

During a large-scale overnight attack in the Moscow region, Ukraine used the new “Pelican” (FP-7) ballistic missile for the first time. Its use was confirmed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Zelensky said on Sunday that Ukrainian forces had struck a “major Russian oil industry facility,” as well as a logistics facility in the Moscow region.

The operation was carried out by Ukraine’s defense and intelligence forces, which targeted key points in Russia’s oil industry and logistics chain.

According to the Ukrainian president, 10 different types of weapons were used in the operation. Most of them were developed and manufactured in Ukraine, including the “Pelican” (FP-7), which was used for the first time in such an operation.

One of the targets of the attack was Gazprom Neft’s oil refinery in Moscow, located in the Kapotnya area.

Ukrainian authorities say the refinery supplies Moscow and the surrounding areas with around 40% of their fuel.

The attack also damaged a residential building. Russian authorities reported casualties and injuries, while the regional governor announced that at least two people were killed and 20 others were injured.
