Trial Begins Under Heightened Security Over Terrorist Attack on the Iber-Lepenc Canal

On 27.07.2026, at 10:42, it was reported that Dragisha Viqentijeviq, Jovan Viqentijeviq and Igor Dimoviq, who are accused of the terrorist attack on the Iber-Lepenc canal in Zubin Potok, had been brought to the Basic Court in Pristina on Monday under tight security.

The trial at the Palace of Justice began at 10:00. At the hearing held on July 9, all three defendants pleaded not guilty and declined to have the indictment read aloud.

The Special Prosecution’s indictment states that on 29.11.24, in the section of the “Iber-Lepenc” canal in the village of Varagë, in the Municipality of Zubin Potok, the defendants Viqentijeviq, following a prior agreement with several other individuals who have yet to be identified, placed approximately 20 kilograms of Trinitrotoluene (“TNT”) explosives inside the canal.

The Viqentijeviq brothers are accused of detonating the explosive through a bag that they had tied with a rope behind a concrete pillar.

The explosion caused severe damage to the concrete structure of the “Iber-Lepenc” canal, disrupted the drinking water supply and jeopardized electricity production. The damage caused to the “Iber-Lepenc” company is estimated at 376,774.70 euros.

According to the Special Prosecution, through these actions, the Viqentijeviq defendants committed the criminal offense of “Endangering the constitutional order by destroying or damaging public installations,” as stipulated in Article 122, in conjunction with “Commission of a terrorist offense.”
