Trial begins against Fatmir Sheholli for espionage and blackmail

At the Basic Court in Prishtina, the court hearing against Fatmir Sheholli has begun. He is accused by the Special Prosecution of criminal offenses of espionage and blackmail.

According to the indictment, Sheholli is alleged to have been engaged until October 9, 2025 as a collaborator of the Serbian Intelligence Service (BIA), following instructions from an official of that service, reports “Bota sot”.

The Special Prosecution states that Sheholli is suspected of having collected data concerning political activity, security matters, and the functioning of Kosovo’s state institutions, which he then forwarded to BIA officials.

The indictment also states that he is suspected of having implemented an operational plan drafted by a BIA official, with the aim of damaging the interests of the Republic of Kosovo.

In addition to the espionage charge, Sheholli also faces a blackmail charge, while with the start of the court hearing, the evidence and the claims of the parties in this case are expected to be examined.

The indictment contains the Prosecution’s allegations, while the guilt or innocence of the accused will be decided by the court at the conclusion of the judicial process.
