The Transparency Board has decided to cut the price of diesel by 6 lekë per liter and the price of gasoline by 2 lekë per liter. According to the decision taken today, September 22, 2026, the retail price of diesel will be no more than 213 lekë per liter, down from the previous price of 219 lekë.

Meanwhile, the wholesale price will be no more than 201 lekë per liter.
Gasoline has also been reduced, with the retail price set at 193 lekë per liter, down from 195 lekë previously. For wholesale sales, the price must not exceed 181 lekë per liter.
The new prices take effect today, September 22, at 12:00 and will remain valid until the next meeting of the Transparency Board.

The Board for Transparency and Temporary Limitation of Wholesale/Retail Trading Prices of Petroleum and Gas By-products, pursuant to Council of Ministers Decision No. 711, dated 16.09.2026, “On declaring a special situation in the hydrocarbons market,” in implementation of Article 21/3 and Article 21/5 of Law 8450, dated 24.2.1999, “On the processing, transportation and trading of oil, gas and their by-products,” as amended, as well as Normative Act No. 1, dated 3.4.2026, “On an addition to Law No. 61/2012, ‘On excise duties in the Republic of Albania,’” as amended, held its second meeting.
Thus, on September 22, 2026, the Transparency Board decided:
The retail price of the diesel by-product conforming to the SSH EN 590 standard shall be no more than 213 lekë per liter, while the wholesale price shall be no more than 201 lekë per liter.
The retail price of the gasoline by-product conforming to the SSH EN standard shall be no more than 193 lekë per liter, while the wholesale price shall be no more than 181 lekë per liter.
The prices set by the Board will enter into force today, September 22, at 12:00 and will remain valid until the next meeting of the Board, where changes in sales prices will be reflected.
We draw the attention of all wholesale and retail operators of petroleum by-products to their obligation to implement this decision.
If violations by different operators are identified, the suspension of their activity will be ordered.
