Tragedy in Jalë/ 32-year-old woman from London dies after experiencing breathing problems at hotel

A 32-year-old woman born in London died on Monday evening in Jalë, Himara, after developing serious health problems while staying at a local hotel.

According to a police statement, on 21.09.2026, at around 18:40, a woman identified by the initials I. R., 32, born in London, United Kingdom, had requested help at the reception of the hotel where she was staying after feeling unwell.

Hotel staff immediately intervened and took the 32-year-old woman to the Health Center. Despite medical assistance, she died.

Initial suspicions point to natural causes. Preliminary medical examinations found that the young woman had previously experienced breathing problems and also suffered from diabetes.

The investigative team, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, is continuing procedural steps and verification efforts to determine the exact cause of death.
