The Basic Court in Pristina has handed down guilty verdicts against four people involved in the “Toka 2” case, sentencing them to a total of 32 years in prison for criminal offenses related to organized crime, abuse of official duty and money laundering.

The ruling, announced on Friday by the presiding judge, Vesel Ismaili, sets a sentence of 10 years in prison for Mehmet Prishtina, 8 years for Dukagjin Emërllahi, 8 years for Avni Maxhuni and 6 years for Nexharije Hoti.
The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo welcomed the verdict, considering it an important step in efforts to combat organized crime.
In a statement issued after the ruling, the Special Prosecution said it welcomed the guilty verdict against the four defendants, KosovaPress reports.
“This decision represents an important development in the ongoing institutional efforts to combat organized crime,” the prosecution said in its response.
Nexharije Hoti, a former municipal judge in Pristina, was accused in the “Toka 2” case of unlawfully issuing court decisions and abusing her official duty. Mehmet Prishtina and Dukagjin Emërllahi were accused of assisting in the commission of these criminal offenses, while Avni Maxhuni, along with Emërllahi and Prishtina, also faced charges of money laundering.
