The Tirana court panel has found two former Police Oversight Agency (AMP) officials, Artjol Saliasi and Gëzim Sala, guilty of abuse of office.

For each, the court set an initial sentence of 9 months in prison, which was then reduced by one-third due to the abbreviated procedure, turning it into 6 months’ deprivation of liberty.
However, the execution of the prison sentence was suspended by the court, which replaced it with the obligation to complete 1 year of probation.
The investigations into the two former officials were conducted on suspicion that they had committed procedural violations during Muçi Shaljani’s recruitment into the AMP. Shaljani died just days after the serious criminal incident recorded last November in the Rinas area.
Also killed in that assassination was Gilmando Dani, while authorities continue investigative work to fully clarify the dynamics and causes of this event.
