Three arrested in Borsh for attempted robbery of a 70-year-old, one of whom was under house arrest

The Himara Police have concluded the coded operation “Shuma”, in the framework of which three citizens were arrested suspected of the attempted robbery of a 70-year-old in the village of Borsh.

Investigation data shows that on July 12, 2026, the three perpetrators entered the elderly man’s home, held him by force and threatened him with an imitation firearm (a lighter in the shape of a pistol), in order to take a sum of money from him.

Following the victim’s report, specialists from the Crime Investigation Section at the Himara Police Station carried out intensive investigative actions, which enabled the identification, localization and handcuffing of the three suspects.

According to the official police announcement, the arrested individuals are: E. Xh., 25 years old, resident of Selenica; K. T., 23 years old, resident of Vlora; and A. C., 19 years old, also resident of Vlora. The latter was found to have violated the security measure “house arrest” imposed by the Court for drug-related crimes.

Investigations also showed that the perpetrators had kept the 70-year-old’s home under surveillance for two days in a row and had rented a “Mercedes-Benz” vehicle to travel to the scene and commit the crime. The vehicle was seized by the police.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
