Three Air Tractors Deployed to Fight Fire in Tearce Municipality

Three Air Tractor aircraft from the Directorate for Protection and Rescue were deployed today to help extinguish the fire in Zheden, in the municipality of Tearce. The news was announced by the director of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, Stojançe Angellov.

In a video statement from the scene, Angellov explained that the flames had engulfed an extremely steep area covered in dense undergrowth, making movement very difficult.

According to him, the terrain conditions prevent firefighters from intervening, so the three Air Tractors are operating in a coordinated manner at several locations. The aim is to break up the fire fronts and prevent the blaze from spreading further. Angellov said this approach is expected to bring the fire partially under control, while full control may be established by the end of the day over this blaze, which is difficult to extinguish.

The director of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue also expressed his deep gratitude to the institution’s three courageous pilots. He stressed that they are deployed every day and, with great sacrifice, fly at low altitude over fires to extinguish them and assist the citizens of North Macedonia.
