Threat against prime minister Mickoski via social media, prosecution requests detention for 39-year-old

The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office of Kumanovo has launched an investigation against a 39-year-old resident of the village of Çerkez, who is suspected of the criminal offense of endangering security.

According to the official announcement of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the person in question sent offensive and threatening messages on social media accounts directed at the Prime Minister of North Macedonia.

The public prosecutor has assessed several key elements that aggravate the suspect’s position, including the circumstances of the crime and the possibility of escape. An additional factor influencing the decision is his criminal past, as he appears to be involved in other violent acts, such as violence, loan sharking, as well as a series of misdemeanors for disturbing public order and peace. For these reasons, the prosecution has submitted to the pre-trial judge a request for the imposition of a security measure in the form of detention.
