The Vlora Hyseni case, Ermelinda Meksi: Responsibility is not only individual; the system is being put to the test

Former minister and former MP Ermelinda Meksi commented on Facebook on the case involving Vlora Hyseni.

According to Meksi, the case should be analyzed beyond the responsibility of a single person, as it raises questions about how the mechanisms that select, vet and appoint individuals to positions granting access to the most sensitive state information operate.

“The Vlora Hyseni case should not be viewed only as a matter of an individual’s responsibility, but as a test of the system that selected, vetted and certified her, granting her access to the most sensitive secrets of the Albanian state,” Meksi wrote.

The former minister’s reaction comes at a time when the case of the former head of SHISH has sparked intense debate in politics and among the public, while authorities’ investigations into the accusations against her continue.
