The shooting of Brian Syzo: police solve the incident, 4 suspected perpetrators identified

Pogradec police have clarified the circumstances of the shooting of 35-year-old Brian Syzo, an incident that took place a day earlier in neighborhood no. 3 of the city.

As a result of the investigation, four suspected perpetrators have been identified, all with previous criminal records for crimes against the person.

The circumstances of yesterday’s incident have been clarified, and 4 suspected perpetrators in the attempted murder by firearm of a 35-year-old man have been identified.

Two of them have been arrested, while 2 others have been declared wanted (all four have criminal records for crimes against the person).

One of the main perpetrators was placed in handcuffs just minutes after the incident, following uninterrupted pursuit by the Police.

Three vehicles and 6 mobile phones were seized.

Following intensive investigative actions carried out by specialists for the Investigation of Serious Crimes at the Korça Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the services of the Pogradec Police Station, under the direction of the Prosecution Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Korça, to clarify the circumstances of the incident that occurred yesterday in neighborhood no. 3, Pogradec, where a 35-year-old man was shot in the leg, 4 suspected perpetrators of the incident were identified, all four with criminal records for crimes against the person.

Two of them, citizens N. A., 24, resident of the village of Buçimas, and D. P., 30, resident of neighborhood no. 1, Pogradec, were arrested, while the other 2, citizens M. B., 40, resident of neighborhood no. 2, Pogradec, and E. A., 22, resident of the village of Buçimas, were declared wanted.

Investigations suspect that these individuals, due to previous conflicts with citizen B. S., 35, tried to kill him by shooting at him with a firearm while he was in his vehicle, parked in neighborhood no. 3, Pogradec.

One of the main perpetrators was located and arrested only a few minutes after the incident, as a result of the immediate response and uninterrupted pursuit by Police services.

During the investigative actions, 3 vehicles and 6 mobile phones were seized as material evidence.

The 35-year-old remains under doctors’ care.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecution Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Korça for further action, for the criminal offenses of “Premeditated murder,” committed in cooperation, remaining at the attempted stage, and “Unauthorized possession and manufacture of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition.”
