The protest enters its 114th day, citizens gather again today in front of the Prime Minister’s Office: Rama resigns!

The citizens’ protest against the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama is continuing this Monday in Tirana, entering the 114th day of citizens’ daily resistance.

Following Sunday’s 113th protest, when citizens gathered in Skanderbeg Square and then marched toward the Prime Minister’s Office, protesters have once again returned to the streets of the capital.

At the previous day’s rally, the main messages were directed against the government, while one of the repeated demands was the prime minister’s resignation.

The 114th protest is expected to continue in the same format, with citizens gathering, activists delivering speeches and then marching through the streets of Tirana.

In recent days’ protests, chants such as “Rama, resign,” “Your time is up,” “Arrest Rama” and “Albania is making a revolution” have once again been heard.

Protesters have also held banners carrying messages against corruption and calling for changes to the way political representation is structured.

One of the messages repeated during the marches has also been “Join us, students, the nation is calling,” while protesters have called for the broadest possible civic participation.

At the 113th protest, after the speeches in front of the Prime Minister’s Office had concluded, the march was led by students, women and girls.

In recent days, activists have also raised other political issues during their speeches, including the 2008 constitutional amendments, the way representation in Parliament is organized, the Territorial Reform, protected areas, the Mountain Package and strategic investments.

Meanwhile, the organizers have called for the protests and marches in the capital to continue. According to them, the daily resistance will continue in the coming days, while the demand for the prime minister’s resignation remains at the center of the rallies.
