The Hague verdict, Përparim Rama calls for national unity: Let us be one and together

Pristina Mayor Përparim Rama joined a student protest held in the capital today against the sentencing verdict handed down against former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

In a statement to the media, he called for the Hague verdict to be addressed beyond party divisions, stressing that this issue should unite everyone.

Rama said the protest was democratic and that students had come from all cities to support the process and oppose the decisions made in The Hague. He said that a national value cannot be criminalized in any proceedings, adding that the capital’s squares would always remain open to protests defending these values. The mayor of Pristina called on institutions and parties to place their position above party interests, saying the situation should be used to promote national unity, as they must stand as one and together in the face of the undermining of the process itself.
