Around 7-year-old girl is feared to have drowned after five members of the same family went swimming late yesterday afternoon in the Drin River, in Gjoricë, Bulqizë.

According to sources close to the Bulqizë Police, the water level rose while they were in the river after the gates of the hydropower plant in Greater Dibër were opened. The powerful current swept away all five people.
Family members alerted the police at around 21:00 last night. Immediately after receiving the report, police services arrived at the scene and, over the course of around four hours, managed to pull four people out alive.
The search for the approximately 7-year-old child is continuing, as she is believed to have been carried away by the river current.
