The 13th rally in Pristina in support of former KLA leaders ends

The protest held on the evening of September 28, 2026, in Pristina’s “Skënderbeu” Square ended after a program organized against the decision of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague concerning former KLA leaders.

The rally that night, the 13th in a row, began at around 9:00 p.m. under the motto “Not in my name” and brought together a large number of citizens. The gathering had already begun before 9:00 p.m.

Citizens, families of fallen fighters and war veterans took part in the protest, expressing their opposition to the decisions of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague concerning Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi. Klestori, Kadri Veseli’s son, was also present in the square.

The event opened with the “Soldier’s Oath,” performed by KLA veteran Bekim Juniku. After the oath, he also shared his personal testimony with those present.

Among the participants and guests were organizer Çlirim Haziri, Albanian journalist Denada Kola and actor Kushtrim Sheremeti.

During the evening, the video “The Soldier’s Account” was shown, while Luan Jahiri performed a piece about the Epic of Jezerc, as well as a military song.

The organizers have called for amendments to the Law on the Specialist Chambers, which was approved years ago by the Assembly of Kosovo. Through speeches delivered during previous evenings, participants and the families of fallen fighters conveyed messages to local institutions.

The organizers have also called for a nationwide protest on October 1. They warned that the calm nature of the rallies so far should not be disregarded, as the mobilization is expected to spread throughout the country.

The protest ended with the symbolic action “One Minute of Silence for Justice.” At the conclusion of the program, citizens left “Skënderbeu” Square, marking the end of that night’s rally.
