Tensions Rise in the West Bank, Netanyahu Says Israel Is Ready for Broader Action

As clashes, attacks by Israeli settlers and military operations continue in the occupied West Bank, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel is “prepared to act more broadly.”

Israeli forces carried out a raid in the city of Nablus in the early hours of the morning. Around 40 Palestinians were arrested in the operation, including a woman and several former prisoners.

These military operations follow the deployment of Israeli troops to various parts of the occupied territory several days earlier. The deployment came after a wave of violence that left four Palestinians and two Israelis dead.

Palestinian officials said Israeli settlers forced their way into the village of Tal, where they clashed with local residents. The escalation of the incident caused casualties and further heightened tensions in the region.

Meanwhile, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry expressed “deep concern” over the increase in violence perpetrated by Israeli settlers in the Palestinian territories.

In an official statement, Cairo condemned what it described as “acts of violence and intimidation.” These included setting fire to homes, properties and religious sites, as well as attacks against civilians.

According to Egypt, these incidents are part of “systematic policies that fuel tensions and undermine efforts toward peace and stability.” Cairo also stressed that such actions constitute “a flagrant violation” of international law.

The Egyptian authorities called on the international community to fulfill its “legal and moral responsibilities” by taking concrete steps to halt settler attacks and ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians.
