Taravari: The overwhelming majority of the population does not know any Albanian minister, their influence is zero

Dr. Arben Taravari, chairman of the Alliance for Albanians (ASh), stated that the current representation of Albanians in the executive is the weakest and least significant since the early 1990s. He described the current government situation as a period of minimal influence for the community.

According to him, citizens have no information about the individuals who lead state institutions.

“Try conducting a poll and ask people to name two Albanian ministers in the Government! I am convinced that 70 to 80 percent of respondents will answer that they do not know who they are, because they are completely unknown figures,” Taravari said. He added that Albanian ministers in previous cabinets enjoyed authority, unlike the current ones, who, according to the ASh leader, are completely lost in the portfolios they have taken on.

“There are cabinet members who have absolutely no idea what is happening in the ministries they are supposed to lead. This is the lowest level of influence they have in shaping state policies,” Taravari forcefully asserted for “vestimak.mk”, according to the report by the newspaper Lajm and Lajm.tv.

His criticism did not stop at ministerial posts, as he also raised serious accusations of lack of propriety and scandalous behavior by a senior government official, as well as the lack of engagement of their deputies.

“We have deputy ministers who are completely unknown to the public, who either never show up at work or appear only once a week. What’s more, we have a deputy prime minister who has been absent abroad for three months straight, with no one knowing the reason or his whereabouts, and during this time he continues to draw a salary,” the ASh leader declared.

He made these statements to concretely illustrate the complete failure of the current representatives in Prime Minister Mickoski’s government.
