Tahiri: The Alliance has not changed its approach toward the Kurti Government, it is not seeking positions or agreements for the executive

Besnik Tahiri, an elected MP from the Alliance, said the party he represents continues to maintain the same stance toward the Kurti Government and is seeking neither political agreements nor positions in order to become part of the executive.

According to him, if the Alliance’s relationship with the Kurti Government had changed, then the party would have entered talks about joining the government.

“The Alliance’s position in relation to the Kurti Government has not changed; if that relationship had changed, we would build political relations, we would aim to have political agreements to be in government. We have said very clearly that we are not seeking positions or political agreements for government. We have said that so far three rounds of elections have taken place and we have given a political position with six conditions that we think are very important,” he declared.

Tahiri also spoke about the option of forming a minority government, assessing that such a move would aim to create a new deadlock and place the blame on the former opposition by the caretaker government.

“With his decision to establish a minority government with 62 or 63 votes, he has only one goal: to push us into the next 60-day period, when it is time to elect the president, and put us in a situation where they say, ‘look, these people are blocking us.’ No, sir, we are not blocking you. We are not blocking you, because you got the votes. In the public’s logic, every compromise is seen as a concession. The Alliance has made no concession with its political position as a political party,” he declared.
