Tahiri opposes return of Specialist Chambers law: The cause of the struggle for freedom has been harmed

Alliance MP Besnik Tahiri described the return of the law on the Specialist Chambers to the Assembly as a step that has harmed the cause of the struggle for freedom, Ekonomia Online reports.

In his criticism, Tahiri focused on the government’s stance. He expressed surprise that the executive was now responding by claiming that an error had been discovered, even though, according to him, it had held the law for two weeks without making any comments. He described the government’s response as shedding crocodile tears.

According to the MP, the Alliance considers the return of the law an extremely damaging, unserious and unacceptable move. He said the step had fundamentally undermined the cause and that the party would monitor how the matter develops.

Tahiri stressed that what is being defended in The Hague is the truth and the narrative of freedom, not political parties. In this regard, he expressed the Alliance’s determination not to allow the cause of the struggle for freedom to be harmed.

Regarding possible amendments to the law, the MP clarified that the Alliance does not yet know what changes are envisaged. He linked this lack of information to the fact that they have not yet seen the letter with which the president returned the law.
