Sveçla on the suspension of three police officers suspected of sexual harassment

Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla has reacted following the launch of an investigation and the suspension of three police officials. They are suspected of sexual harassment and unlawful searches through the abuse of their official positions and authority.

In a Facebook post, Sveçla welcomed the cooperation between the Kosovo Police Inspectorate (KPI) and the Kosovo Police in handling the case.

He said that the actions of individuals would not be allowed to damage the image of the Kosovo Police and its members, who, according to him, work professionally to ensure the safety of citizens and the country.

Sveçla stressed that the mission of the Kosovo Police is to serve citizens. He said that any abuse committed in its name for any kind of benefit would be punished without compromise.

According to the minister, citizens’ trust in the Kosovo Police is based on its professionalism, integrity and responsibility. He described the KPI as an essential accountability mechanism that ensures every violation is treated seriously and without compromise.
