Suspected Assassination Attempt in Elbasan, Gun Pointed at Mir Bitoci’s Head: How He Managed to Escape

A serious firearms incident that occurred around midday on Saturday at a well-known establishment in Elbasan is suspected to have targeted Mir Bitoci. The investigation has uncovered further details about how the incident unfolded.

Everything is believed to have happened at around 14:50, as Bitoci was leaving the establishment. Investigators have made a preliminary reconstruction of the sequence of events based on witness accounts and security camera footage.

In the footage, Bitoci is initially seen inside the establishment wearing a black T-shirt. After sitting at a table for several minutes, he gets up and leaves the indoor area.

At the same time, another person, who had been drinking coffee with a woman, also gets up and follows Bitoci. Preliminary information indicates that once outside, the person wearing a white T-shirt approached him from behind and placed a firearm against the back of his head.

Bitoci is believed to have escaped a tragic outcome thanks to his immediate reaction, quickly fleeing the scene. Meanwhile, the investigative team is also examining the possibility that the suspected perpetrator’s handgun jammed just as he attempted to open fire.

If ballistic testing confirms this circumstance, it could serve as an important element in determining the nature of the incident and clarifying whether it was a direct attempted murder.

By analyzing the security footage and statements from those present at the establishment, investigators aim to fully establish the sequence of events, determine whether the suspect deliberately followed Bitoci, and identify the motive behind the confrontation.
