Among the main priorities during his upcoming term will be reaching a collective agreement on child protection and drafting a new collective agreement for the cultural sector. According to Ramov, these steps aim to improve employees’ economic and social conditions.
Ramov said he would work to restore educators’ dignity and their rightful place in society. He stressed that the union has much work ahead and expressed hope for understanding from its social partners in order to improve the economic and social status of educators throughout Macedonia.
Speaking about the time needed to achieve these goals, the new president said the signing of the agreements would depend on the willingness and agreement of both parties in the negotiations.
Jakim Nedelkov is stepping down after 16 years at the helm of SASHK. At the congress, he said that, alongside the presentation of results from the past five years, changes in the union’s leadership were also expected. Around 270 delegates from across the country are attending the event. /Telegrafi/
