State Statistical Office: Hospitality services record price increases

A lunch at a restaurant, a coffee or an evening out at a bar cost more during August 2026 than in the same period a year earlier.

According to data from the State Statistical Office, prices for hospitality services rose by 3.7% in August 2026 compared with August last year. Compared with July, the increase was 0.6%.

The upward price trend was also reflected in the balance for the first eight months of the year. In the January–August 2026 period, prices were on average 3.0% higher than in the same period of 2025.

Compared with December last year, the price increase had reached 1.3% by August.

For citizens, this means that spending on a coffee, lunch or dinner has gradually increased, and the bill is higher than it was a year ago.
