Shiroka Pula visits families of former KLA leaders, Krasniqi calls it the first institutional visit in six years

Altin Krasniqi, the son of Jakup Krasniqi, has praised the visit that the President of Kosovo, Justina Shiroka Pula, made to their families.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo MP emphasized that this was among the first visits from representatives of state institutions since the moment the Specialist Chambers issued the sentencing verdict.

According to him, this visit carries special weight for the family, as it demonstrates the willingness of institutions to protect the legacy of the Kosovo Liberation Army’s war.

“We express our gratitude to the President for this visit, which is the first from any institutional representative in these six years. This is of great importance to the family, because it proves that institutions are ready to contribute to defending the KLA war,” Krasniqi stated.

He added that the President had emphasized that she would take every possible step within legal boundaries at the Appeals stage for the release of the KLA leaders.

“The President made it clear that everything within legal frameworks will be supported in the Appeals process,” Krasniqi said.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Justina Shiroka Pula, held meetings yesterday with the families of Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi, and Jakup Krasniqi, former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, who are facing judicial proceedings at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

The official announcement states that during these visits, the President expressed solidarity with the families, underscoring that this is a difficult period both for them and for the Republic of Kosovo.
