Several people taken into police custody near Rama’s meeting in Vlora

Activist Baki Goxhaj and several other citizens were taken into police custody by police on Saturday afternoon in Vlora. According to reports, they were near the Palace of Culture, where Prime Minister Edi Rama was holding a meeting with citizens about the territorial reform.

Police forces had been deployed outside the building to ensure the event proceeded smoothly and to prevent incidents. Goxhaj is believed to have been taken into custody following information that there could be a reaction against Prime Minister Rama.

The activist’s wife objected to the police action and demanded to know the reason for his detention. Meanwhile, the other people were taken into custody after arguing with the officers, as they were seeking to enter the meeting.
