SDSM Files Criminal Complaints Against Police Officers and Valentin Manasievski: Confidential Data Was Handed Over to VMRO-DPMNE

Nine days after the attack on young activists in Novo Selo, no one has yet been summoned for questioning and no investigation has been opened, SDSM said in a statement today.

According to the party, the perpetrators are being protected by the government, while the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Interior Ministry remain silent. SDSM claims that the young activists were first subjected to physical violence and were then publicly attacked with lies and fabrications.

The statement said the attempt to silence the activists had failed. SDSM accused VMRO-DPMNE of disclosing confidential information from documents held by the Strumica Police Station during a press conference.

The documents and information in question are protected as official secrets, and the party has no right to access them. According to SDSM, their disclosure constitutes a new criminal offense, and those responsible will not be able to evade accountability.

For this reason, SDSM announced that it had filed criminal complaints today with the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Prosecutor’s Office for the Prosecution of Organized Crime.

The first complaint was filed against police officers at the Strumica Sector for Internal Affairs and includes suspicions of several criminal offenses.

They were reported for abuse of official position and authority, as they are suspected of accessing criminal records and extracting confidential documents, which were subsequently handed over to and ended up with VMRO-DPMNE.

The officers are also suspected of disclosing official secrets under Article 360 of the Criminal Code. SDSM stressed that information from criminal records is classified and constitutes an official secret, but nevertheless reached VMRO-DPMNE.

The complaint also includes the misuse of personal data, as stipulated in Article 149. According to the party, data belonging to a special category, namely criminal records, was made available for use in the party interests of VMRO-DPMNE, contrary to the purpose for which it was collected.

In addition, SDSM filed a criminal complaint against Valentin Manasievski of VMRO-DPMNE, accusing him of misusing personal data.

According to the complaint, Manasievski, without any legal basis, publicly presented and disseminated through the mass media data obtained from criminal records.

He was also reported for incitement under Article 23 of the Criminal Code. SDSM said there are reasonable grounds to suspect that Manasievski, either directly or through intermediaries, intentionally incited those named in the first complaint to commit the criminal offenses of abuse of official position and disclosure of official secrets./Telegrafi/
