SDSM criticizes Mickoski and Klekovski: An open-air cinema is being held in Dračevo despite the West Nile fever epidemic

SDSM has reacted to the organization of an open-air cinema screening in Dračevo, an area where an epidemic has been declared following the spread of West Nile fever, directing criticism at Hristijan Mickoski and Sasho Klekovski.

According to the party, 35 cases of West Nile fever have been confirmed in the Municipality of Kisella Voda, specifically in Dračevo, while 3 people have died and 6 others are in critical condition in intensive care. Despite this situation, an open-air cinema has been organized there.

SDSM describes the management of the epidemic by Mickoski and Klekovski as complete amateurism and unprofessionalism. The party claims that the same pattern is being repeated as in the case of the water in Gostivar, with a lack of timely prevention, a lack of system and responsibility, while the situation is being handled through improvisation and propaganda.

“In other countries, measures against mosquito larvae have been implemented systematically since spring, traps have been set, breeding grounds for mosquitoes have been cleaned, and citizens have been informed. Here, meanwhile, people are expected to start dying,” SDSM said.

The party adds that in European Union countries, the response begins as soon as the first positive findings are detected in mosquitoes, not only after fatalities have been recorded. According to the party, while other countries took measures as early as spring, activities are being organized outdoors in the area where an epidemic has been declared, instead of preventive measures being strengthened and press conferences being held afterward.
