SDSM accuses Mickoski of selling off the national wealth: five new mines, antimony and a data center

SDSM accused Mickoski today of putting the country’s land, water, ore and national wealth up for sale, while portraying Macedonia abroad as an unserious state and calling its citizens “scum.”

According to the party, the government has delivered no economic results and has no clear policy in this area, while treating Macedonia as an opportunity for profit.

“Water, land and ore have been placed at the disposal of the interests and profits of foreign businesses. Citizens are left with pollution, risks to their health and the cost of his contracts,” SDSM said.

The party mentioned the five mining projects Ilovica-Shtuka, Kazandol, Plavica, Kadiica and Luke, as well as planned geological exploration in Kozhuv. According to SDSM, the list also includes an antimony mine, a metal used in the military industry.

“Arms dealers finance him for meetings in hotels and corridors in the US, while he rewards them with land and excavations. They get profits and commissions, while citizens are left with poisonous antimony and having to live near waste dumps,” the statement said.

SDSM compared this approach with the model it says is also being pursued for data centers, where five or six companies operate without public scrutiny, contracts are kept away from citizens and state resources are made available.

The opposition party also said that, at a time when the consumer basket has reached 90,000 denars and citizens are barely managing to cover their expenses, Mickoski’s priorities are businesses, commissions and profits.

According to SDSM, ESM is sinking into difficulties, the state is taking on debt, while Mickoski, together with Adamović and Lazarević, through ties with Rudnap and Božinovska, is forcing businesses to deal with electricity and meters.

“There is nothing for citizens. There are only contracts, commissions and profits for business interests,” SDSM stressed.

The party accused “Mickoski’s gang” of viewing Macedonia as prey and said that, in closed-door meetings, it was deciding the future of entire settlements, putting residents’ water, land and health at risk.
