Sali: There Is No Need for Early Elections, We Can Complete the Four-Year Mandate

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for European Affairs Bekim Sali, speaking on the program “Analysis” on TV 24, said that the results of the local elections show a positive trend for VLEN after a year and a half in government, stressing that now, as a united party, there is greater energy in support of their policies.

According to him, some of the promises made to citizens are being fulfilled, both within the governing coalition and within VLEN. He added that he does not expect the opposition to give a positive assessment of the way they are governing.

“The results in the local elections show that after a year and a half of VLEN being in government, there is a growth trend; now we are one party, and after the unification that positive energy in support of our policies can be seen. We have a stable government, the program is being implemented, we are working on what was promised, we do not feel any crisis in the policies within the coalition, and we can carry the four-year mandate through to the end,” Sali said.

He stressed that the number of municipalities is significantly higher than that of the opposition parties and that in some municipalities a clear victory was recorded already in the first round.

“Citizens have voted, local elections are separate from parliamentary elections and we cannot label them as party elections,” Deputy Prime Minister Sali said when asked whether they had been helped in the local elections by their partner, VMRO-DPMNE.
