Russia Strikes Ukraine with 133 Drones, Attacks Train Carrying 340 Passengers in Odesa, Killing Two Crew Members

In recent hours, Russia has launched a new wave of drone attacks across several parts of Ukraine, according to Ukrainian authorities.

Official figures show that a total of 133 Russian drones were launched, while Ukrainian air defenses managed to intercept 111 of them.

The daily danger facing civilians was also evident in Kyiv. A video shared on social media shows a Russian Geran-2 drone engulfed in flames after being hit by air defenses, crashing into the middle of a road as vehicles were passing.

Another attack with tragic consequences occurred in the Odesa region, where a Russian Shahed drone struck the engine of a passenger train.

The driver and his assistant were killed in the strike. There were 340 passengers on board, and the train was approaching a station where they were due to disembark after a drone threat had been identified.

Authorities said the locomotive crew was attempting to stop the train so the passengers could leave safely. However, the drone suddenly changed direction and struck the engine, giving the drivers no time to react.

All passengers were taken to safety, and no injuries were reported among them. They were then transported by bus to Odesa.

The incident comes as Russia has stepped up drone attacks across several regions of Ukraine, threatening not only military targets and infrastructure but also civilian transport and the lives of citizens.
