Rrustemi responds to Çitaku’s offer: The Special Court issue should not be politically conditioned

Vetëvendosje Movement MP Adnan Rrustemi has reacted to the statement by PDK Secretary General Vlora Çitaku regarding the Constitutional Court and the Specialist Chambers.

Çitaku stated that PDK is ready to withdraw the cases filed with the Constitutional Court if the Vetëvendosje Movement publicly pledges to vote for the Draft Law on amending and supplementing the Law on the Specialist Chambers.

Rrustemi called for the Special Court issue to be treated as a priority and not turned into part of political calculations.

He questioned PDK’s approach, recalling that initially it was said there was no Assembly, then the issue was sent to the Constitutional Court and the completion of the presidency was boycotted, while now the Assembly is being called upon, which he considers unconstitutional, and the withdrawal of requests from the Constitutional Court is being offered.

The VV MP called for more seriousness and reflection on the fatal mistakes of the past, from which lessons should be drawn. In conclusion, he requested a coordinated state strategy to support the process, which he described as unjust, in The Hague.
