Rron Gjinovci Again in Harsh Tones: Why Do You Cling to the KLA Identity Only When Accused?

Analyst Rron Gjinovci has continued with strong reactions after the wave of comments provoked by a post of his on the developments in North Mitrovica. Gjinovci clarified that when he spoke of the ‘period when the KLA held power’, he was alluding to the mandate during which Hashim Thaçi served as president, Kadri Veseli headed the Assembly, and Ramush Haradinaj led the government.

Using ironic tones, he raised the question: “Are you or are you not KLA?”. According to him, these protagonists embrace the identity of the Kosovo Liberation Army only when facing justice or indictments, while in other circumstances they choose to present themselves simply as individuals. In this context, Gjinovci recalled the hours-long wait for the Serb List to secure the formation of the PAN government, citing this fact as a critical point against the former leaders.

Below is the analyst’s full statement: “Are you or are you not KLA? I watched a video in the Municipal Assembly of North Mitrovica and wrote that I was struck that the hall had the flag of Kosovo and the photo of the President of Kosovo, and I also wrote that when the KLA was in power it was full of Serbian flags. Immediately comes the remark that it was unfair to say ‘when the KLA was in power’. We’re talking about the period when Hashim Thaçi was President, Kadri Veseli was Speaker of Parliament, Ramush Haradinaj was Prime Minister. Come on, because these guys are in the KLA only when they’re judged or accused, right? Or when they waited for the Serb List for 6 hours to form the PAN government, they weren’t KLA, they were just individuals (allow me to add: wealthy 😀).”
