Renowned Strategist David Zaikin: Albanians Have Rejected Both Rama and Berisha! Albania Needs a New Political Class

In a post on the social network X, renowned Hebrew-Canadian strategist David Zaikin commented on the latest political developments in Albania, assessing that the citizen protests are not an attempt to return the traditional opposition to power, but a rejection of the entire political class that has dominated the country over the past three decades.

David Zaikin stressed that many analysts are misreading the message coming from the streets, arguing that the protesters are not seeking the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama in order to pave the way for the return of Sali Berisha.

“The part people do not understand about Albania: the crowd does not want Rama gone just so Berisha can return to power. They are done with both. A movement that simultaneously rejects the government and the official opposition is a verdict on 30 years, not just on one man. A new political class will have to take the lead,” Zaikin writes.

According to the Hebrew-Canadian strategist, the message being conveyed by the protests goes beyond the clash between the majority and the opposition, reflecting the demand for a new political alternative and a new generation of leaders to replace the current political class.
