Refit Buzi’s Past: 2022 Kidnapping for £400,000, Drug Money, and the 3 Deaths

A long-standing conflict over significant sums of money, derived from criminal activities in Great Britain, is suspected to have led to the breakup of Refit Buzi and Rozalinda Plaka, which culminated on Friday with three victims.

According to Rozalinda’s relatives, Refit Buzi, also known as Nertil Buzi, had previously threatened her with a weapon and had been arrested several times but released again.

The event took tragic proportions a day earlier, when Buzi killed the parents of his ex-partner, took her hostage, and after eight hours of unsuccessful negotiations with the police, killed himself without agreeing to surrender.

In an interview with the press, Refit Buzi’s parents harshly accused the Plaka family, claiming that their son had sent Rozalinda around 180,000 pounds during the period he lived in the United Kingdom, money which her family refused to return.

According to them, even the offer to resolve the dispute by taking only half the amount was rejected, which led to the tragedy with three dead.

However, the testimony of Rozalinda Plaka, who survived, is expected to shed light on the circumstances of this event where her parents and her ex-partner, with whom she had a 9-year relationship, lost their lives.

Refit Buzi had a past linked to the production of narcotic substances in Britain. In 2022, he was kidnapped and tortured for 12 consecutive days by seven Albanians, who demanded 400,000 pounds from his family for his release.

After this figure could not be secured, his brother reported the case, putting law enforcement forces in Albania and Britain into action. Eight British investigators located the place of detention in a building in Michigan and arrested seven Albanian nationals, including a girl, all with criminal records. After this event, Buzi returned to Albania, where disagreements with his ex-fiancée and her parents began over the money that allegedly was not returned.
