Rama reacts to the death of Qatar’s former Emir: A visionary statesman, may his legacy continue to inspire

Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the news of the passing of Qatar’s former Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

“I learned with sadness of the passing of His Highness, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He was a historic leader and a visionary statesman who dedicated his life to the progress of Qatar and laid the foundations for one of the most extraordinary national transformations of our time.

His vision, carried forward by the outstanding leadership of his son and successor, has turned Qatar into an inspiration beyond the borders of its region: a country that has managed to embrace major change while proudly preserving its identity, heritage and rich cultural character.

Albania and Qatar are bound by friendship, mutual respect and growing cooperation, which we greatly value. We have always viewed with deep admiration Qatar’s transformation and its extraordinary commitment to culture, education, dialogue and the protection of heritage.

On behalf of the people of Albania and in my own name, I extend my most sincere condolences to His Highness, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani; to the entire Al Thani family; to my dear friend and brother, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; as well as to the brotherly people of the State of Qatar. May the soul of His Highness, the Father Emir, rest in eternal peace, and may his vision and legacy continue to inspire Qatar and the generations to come,” Rama writes.
