Rama on the Zvërnec rally: We cannot carry out a project that is not approved by the EU, those 3-4 MEPs who came to the protest were talking nonsense

Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about the rally related to Zvërnec, which has been taking place in the capital for several weeks, also commenting on the presence of MEPs in Tirana.

According to Rama, a project that does not receive the approval of the European Union cannot be carried out, and otherwise, as he put it, it would have to be accepted that Albania is not joining the EU.

He also added that “3-4 MEPs came to the protest and were talking nonsense,” referring to the rally for Zvërnec.

“For this project, some of the best architects in the world have been brought together. To come out and attack a project that has not even been built yet is an inquisition, how do you know what it will be like. Let us leave all that aside, in the end one thing is certain, we cannot carry out a project that the EU does not accept, we cannot do it, or we must say that we are not joining the EU. It is as simple as that. When I say European Union, I am talking about the European Commission, I am not talking about those 3-4 Greens who came here and were talking nonsense,” Rama said.
