Rama criticizes SPAK and GJKKO after messages between Vlora Hyseni and Ergys Agasi are published

Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted to the case involving former SHISH director Vlora Hyseni, against whom SPAK has imposed a security measure.

During a press conference, Rama stated that the State Intelligence Service had been exposed to considerable damage.

He stressed that Vlora Hyseni had been treated in an inhumane manner in public and accused SPAK and GJKKO of making investigative data public, which was then discussed as gossip.

“An institution and a former director cannot be left in this condition. Cases cannot be handled on the basis of gossip, and no one can be considered guilty before the trial begins. Vlora Hyseni was publicly lynched before being examined by the court. SPAK and GJKKO made investigative secrets public, and they were treated as gossip,” Rama said.

“Any measure restricting the freedom of anyone without parliamentary immunity, imposed by the prosecuting authority, may be challenged only in court, and not through opinions or from the Prime Minister’s podium.”

“Respecting the independence of the justice system does not mean remaining silent even when a matter of principle emerges during the work of its institutions.”

“In this situation, beyond the criminal case involving the individual, there is also another fact of importance in principle and for the state, which cannot be set aside as though it had not occurred.”

“During the imposition of the measure and the court’s administration of the case file, an institution of particular sensitivity was exposed to the risk of serious damage, which could and should have been prevented entirely.”

“The information in the investigative file was circulating on social media before the court ordered restrictions on its publication,” Rama concluded.
