“Rama-Balluku, SPAK YOU!”/ Giant Message Outside Prime Minister’s Office as Activists Call for Rama to Be Investigated as Organisation Leader

On the afternoon of the 47th day of the citizens’ revolt, the asphalt in front of the government headquarters was covered by a large protest message. In the square where rallies are held every day, protesters painted a direct call on the ground addressed to the justice system and representatives of those in power.

“Rama-Balluku, SPAK YOU!” was the phrase written in large letters by citizens. Through this ironic and defiant wording, they called for the two central figures in the government cabinet to immediately face legal accountability.

During today’s rally on the boulevard, messages directed at the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) and the Special Court Against Corruption and Organised Crime (GJKKO) once again took centre stage. Activists and citizens present stressed that their support for the new justice institutions is not unconditional, but is tied to the clear demand that investigations reach the highest levels of power without compromise.

At the start of the march, activist Edison Lika stated the main demand bluntly, declaring that, as has been said before, SPAK is being asked to investigate Edi Rama as “the criminal head of this corrupt system.”
