Putin warns Ukraine of consequences for attacks on Russian citizens

Vladimir Putin said Russia was ready to resume talks with Kyiv after the parliamentary elections, but according to him, Ukraine attempted to attack Moscow and struck polling stations.

The Russian president said Moscow had “recovered from the damage caused by Ukrainian attacks,” the Tass news agency reported. He also claimed that Russia’s response was so powerful that Ukraine requested a ceasefire.

Putin said Russia did not understand why Ukraine had attacked the warehouses of the Ozon and Wildberries e-commerce platforms.

“From the moment Kyiv began attacking civilian infrastructure, it will now face the consequences,” he warned.

According to the Russian president, all proposals for a peaceful solution are on the table, but Russia must assess which of them are in its interests.

Putin denied that Russia was preparing for a confrontation with Europe, Russian media reported.

He said Moscow was aware of the violation of the rights of Russian speakers in the Baltic states, but added that it was responding to the issue through humanitarian means.

The Russian president also welcomed the talks between US President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.

Speaking about his participation in the APEC summit, which will be held in Shenzhen, China, on November 18-19, Putin said the trip would depend on the situation inside Russia.
