Protests in central Tirana, citizens call on SPAK to arrest Balluku and Rama

As a plenary session is being held in Parliament, citizens have gathered this Tuesday in several areas of central Tirana, along the space between the Boulevard and the Parliament building.

The protesters have voiced accusations and calls against the government and the political class, also demanding that SPAK arrest Prime Minister Edi Rama and Belinda Balluku.

The protest is taking place on the 101st day of the citizens’ resistance. A heightened police presence has been observed at the points where the participants have gathered.

During the rally, police took two protesters in. The full circumstances surrounding their detention have not yet been made public.

The first plenary session of the new parliamentary session has begun inside Parliament. At the same time, outside the building, citizens continue their protest at several points in the center of the capital.
