Protests/ Agim Nesho: The Prime Minister has hit rock bottom; September will bring action against Rama from the international community

Former ambassador Agim Nesho has commented on the political situation in Albania and the protests held against the government, stating that Prime Minister Edi Rama is, in his view, at the end of his government.

Nesho described the government as a “corrupt regime” and said Albania is heading toward a situation in which, according to him, the country is being “sold off.”

The former ambassador warned on News24 of new developments during September, claiming that the prime minister will face reactions and pressure from the international community.

According to Nesho, the international perception of Rama has changed, while he accused the prime minister of governing the country in what he described as a “scandalous” manner.

Finally, he addressed citizens’ trust in the government, arguing that this relationship has been severely damaged.

“I pity Rama; it’s over for him. Not only is it a corrupt regime. It is a regime that has put Albania up for sale; it is selling it. He is at the end of his run. September will bring reactions. There will be new information; there will be action against Rama from the international community. The international community viewed Rama as a clientelist. He acted like a gentleman while seeking to be paid back for maintaining his power. He has governed Albania in a scandalous manner, but he has hit rock bottom. The issue of trust has been broken. Rama is repeating himself,” he said.
